Picture this: it’s the early 90s, and this little country girl is riding her purple bike around sandy roads.
Her driveway is full of clay and rocks, but she loves repeatedly going up and down it. Her yard is massive, so she’s always finding new adventures, jumping on trampolines, playing with her pup, and exploring every nook and cranny.
One day, she spotted a deer hiding in the trees in the distance, which was awesome.
That was Me!
Fast forward to today, and now she’s all grown up with two kids of her own. Who would’ve thought right?
As a devoted mother of two boys, I faced financial challenges and constant disappointments, which made it difficult for me to see a clear path for my life.
However, deep down, I knew there was more to my life than just struggling to make ends meet.
It wasn’t until I took a step back from negative influences, started saying no to things that didn’t align with my goals, and listened to the voice within me that things began to improve.
I soon realized that I had been dwelling too much on my circumstances and past experiences, which was what kept me feeling stuck.
To overcome this, I began to write down everything that came to my mind, acknowledging each one and calling it by name.
Through this process, I was able to confront my fears and anxieties, and slowly start to overcome them.
I also turned up my faith and shifted my focus towards positivity, a shift that empowered me to strive for the best version of myself.
This transformation allowed me to craft a vivid vision for my life, one that was liberated from negativity and brimming with hope for the future.
“I was going through a difficult time and experienced a great deal of frustration.
I needed to gain insight into my emotions and their underlying reasons to improve my ability to care for myself and my household.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, it’s important to recognize that your emotions signal you to pay attention and reflect on some critical questions.
I purchased a notebook from my local dollar store to help me find the answers I was searching for.
I was committed to writing in my journal for 30 days and kept it close by at all times.
After 30 days, I decided to read through the journal entries.
Then, I noticed I had failed to write about my gratitude or reflect on my emotions for three days.
As I was going through my journal, I noticed that my schedule for those three days was jam-packed with various appointments, after-school activities, and nightly routines.
I went from feeling highly motivated to feeling exhausted, and it was then that I started paying more attention to my surroundings and trying to regain my inner peace.
I became more mindful of my well-being and regularly wrote about my journey.
This was the beginning of my daily self-reflection practice.
I realized that monitoring our actions and decisions in life is essential. Without careful monitoring, we can easily find ourselves on the wrong path and wonder how we ended there.
“It is never too late to change the direction of your life and get back on track. You can choose your emotions and the outcomes you want to achieve.
Overcoming negative self-talk may be challenging, but the rewards are immeasurable.
I invite you to join me on this journey, where we can support each other along the way.”
I hope this helps!
