So, you’re about to hit your thirties, huh? Get ready for some significant changes!
You’re going to become a whole new, more mature version of yourself and have some crazy experiences that you’ll never forget.
For instance, you can focus more on your career, learn how to handle your finances more effectively, and become a pro at maintaining healthy relationships.
Plus, you’ll develop a thicker skin so that nothing can bring you down, and you’ll learn how to have some real fun!
When you realize this, you will learn not to take life so seriously and to let go of what you cannot control. It is indeed an act of wisdom and discernment.
You cannot control what happens tomorrow, but you can start right now by implementing small daily habits that will prepare you for tomorrow.
You may be wondering what your future holds for you, what career change you should be considering, or what additional income streams, commonly known as ‘side hustles ‘, you should be exploring to get you to live the life of your dreams.
That next shiny thing.
It’s okay; we’ve all been there.
It’s important to learn from our mistakes to grow and move forward. However, it’s easy to become frustrated and become resistant to change when things aren’t working as you planned.
When you reach middle age, your life will be transformed, just like it was for me. I’ve been through these changes, and I can assure you it’s all part of the journey.
Keep going.
If you wanna crush it in life, listen to your peers and the old-timers.
They might spill the tea on their past mistakes, just “take the meat, and leave the bones,” but remember that things were different back in their day.
And, I will tell you the strategy that helped me to avoid the same mistakes that most people make in their 20s and 30s
.These are the lessons that I’ve learned, and I’m just getting started.
the lessons that I’ve learned
Reserve time to be alone.
Having some alone time is okay; growth is necessary for life.
Taking some time to be alone can help you clear your mind and find the direction you need. The best way to find answers is through self-discovery. Instead of relying on someone else to solve your problems, take the time to reflect and think for yourself. Perhaps you’re spending time with a friend, pondering a difficult decision, and hoping they’ll have the solution. However, it’s important to realize that the answers you seek are within you.
This is not the way!
Ask yourself in your alone time:
- What am I passionate about?
- What does a happy life look like for me?
- What area in my life could use improvement?
It may take days or even weeks, but the answer will come. Expect it!
Reward yourself for every achievement you make.
Whether it’s a small or big achievement, show gratitude that you’ve achieved the goal. You build your confidence and affirm that you have the willpower and discipline to achieve your goals.
When I decided to focus on life goals, I struggled to find ways to reward myself, so here’s what I did
- Spa day at home
- Mindfulness coloring
- Get a pedicure/ manicure
- Try a new recipe
- Go on a walk
- Journal
- Try a new workout class
Embrace your weaknesses
In your 30s, you may realize that your personality is the sum total of your life experiences, including your actions, thoughts, and desires..
Identify your weaknesses, work on improving them, and make a habit of practicing them daily.
drink water
Adulthood is loaded with responsibilities, so your health and wellness are non-negotiable. Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly.
As you grow older and take on more responsibilities, taking care of your health and well-being becomes more important. You may notice that tasks such as climbing stairs or getting out of bed become more difficult if you don’t consciously try to stay hydrated.
By making a habit of drinking water daily, you can develop discipline and see improvements in other areas of your life as well
Practice Gratitude
Embracing mindfulness will highlight the blessings that surround you in your daily routine.
Mindfulness allows you to see the positive aspects of your life, which you can keep doing, and savor the moments.
Also, mindfulness brings a sense of self-awareness by highlighting the things that are not so great for you that are delaying you from getting to your goals.
In your 30s, you find a new way of living in the moment, which is different from how you would in your 20s.
“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.”
-Les Brown
take responsibility for your actions, and don’t feel sorry for yourself
Admit when you are wrong, and stop blaming yourself for what happens.
You didn’t get the promotion that you tirelessly worked for not because you didn’t have the skills but because you chose not to make it a priority. Making your goals for the month was your goal and more important.
Acknowledge it and keep moving
It is important to understand your abilities and limitations. Take your time and practice positive self-talk.
You can say:
I’m always evolving
Oops, I messed up. No biggie though, I’ll learn from it and move on.
I haven’t figured out it yet, but I will
And, my favorite. I like me.
learn a new skill
Improve your skills that you already have or pivot in a new direction with those same skills. We often overlook how powerful we are because we are on autopilot. Consciously think about what you do daily is it writing, talking, dancing, etc.
How can you improve those skills or in what ways can you display your skills to the world to add value
and most of all…
Do the hard things it will make you better
